Scuderia by Carlo Scarpa, ode to nature.

Carlo Scarpa is one of the most important architects and designers of the 20th century; he was an eclectic character, the breadth of his creativity ranged from organic architectural planning to design, with a transversal planning ability, which conceived the small and large scale with the same methodology. He has been able to interpret and anticipate trends and tastes, shaping ideas into new ways to live. A shared path and thought to transform a desire into matter, functionality, technology and aesthetics. A desire that always knew how to be in symbiosis with its surroundings, be it an architectural building or design furniture; whether he used concrete or wood or something else, depending on the building he was going to design, he created a partnership with nature, a balance between the built environment and the natural environment, as demonstrated by the Brion tomb, the Querini Stampalia Foundation... or many of the its furnishings, one above all the Scuderia Series. Here Carlo Scarpa has been able to make the most of the naturalness of wood, through the use of its main material, oak, preserving the innate beauty of nature.

The name Scuderia derives from his first choice, for which the handle had to be built using horsehair, then Carlo Scarpa, convinced of the difficulty of finding the raw material, opted for a sophisticated wood such as boxwood, usually used for of cabinetmaking.
