Paolo RIZZATTO

Paolo Rizzatto (1941) architect, lives and works in Milan. In his studio in Via Savona he deals with architecture, interiors, design and lighting. He has designed for Alias, Arteluce, Artemide, Alias, Cassina, Danese, Fiam, Flos, Guzzini, Knoll, Kartell, Lensvelt, Luceplan, Molteni, Montina, Nemo, Philips, Poltrona Frau, Thonet, Segis, Serralunga, Veneta Cucine and others. In 1978 he founded the company Luceplan with Riccardo Sarfatti. He holds courses and conferences in various universities: Columbia University NewYork, Politecnico di Milano, Cranbrook Center Detroit, Washington University Saint Louis, Architecture Institute Moscow, University Palermo, IUAV Venice. His works are included in the permanent collections of numerous museums and foundations: Triennale Milano, Museum of Modern Art New York, Victoria and Albert Museum London, Museo della Scienza e della Tecnica Milano, Musée des Arts Decoratifs Paris. He has received numerous awards, including: Five Compasso d'Oro Awards 1981, 1989, 1995, 2008 and 2011 – La Lampe d'Or Sil / Paris 1990 – La Lampe d'Argent Sil / Paris 1988 – Design Plus / 1992 and 2006 – Design Plus Ambiente/Frankfurt 1992 – Product Award Lighting Fair / NY 1992 – European Community Design Prize / Amsterdam 1994 – Red Dot Award Design Innovations / Essen 1994 and 2010 – Industrie Forum Design Prize / Hannover 1996 – Good Design Award / Chicago 1999 and 2010 – Swiatlo / Warsaw 1999 – Winning project of the International Design Competition for the "Darsena di Milano" / 2004 – Light of de Future Energy saving sources / Frankfurt 2006 – Premio dei Premi per l'Innovazione / Rome 2011. /
